Wrexham Family Information Service (WFIS), based in the market town Wrexham in North East Wales, provides information and guidance on childcare, children’s, young people’s and family  services. WFIS also supports employers and employees with information on flexible working and Work Life Balance.  A successful ‘Employers for Work Life Balance’ group was facilitated by WFIS  from 2000 until 2007  to share examples of good practice in the area of Work Life Balance.  As part of an ‘Equal’ funded project called ASAPH, which ended in 2007, a Work Life Balance information pack was produced. This pack was widely distributed around Children’s /Family  Information Services across Wales at the time and was highly regarded by employers and unions  because of the approach it took to championing WLB.  The pack provided employers and employees with basic but strong information and pointers to find out more.
