| Eurobalance has completed its work successfully |
|
TheEurobalance project which started in October 2009, has succefully completed its work across Europe. Designed to develop Europe-wide opportunities for work life balance, particularly in SMEs, the project took an innovative work life balance guide developed in the UK and transferred it, both linguistically and culturally, to other areas of Europe: the East (Poland), the North (Denmark), and the south (Italy and Greece). The transfer was done by training a group of ‘champions’ in each of the countries to understand better the issues and benefits of work life balance who then went into SMEs to ‘cascade’ their knowledge to a larger number of people. In total over 40 champions were trained, over 200 SMEs were contacted and the message was presented to over 1000 people across Europe. From a sample of these 1000+ people nearly 80% reported that Eurobalance had helped them to prepare for better work life balance ‘very much’or ‘Quite a lot’. An added benefit of the work was that it helped to provide people with new insights into such aspects as time and stress management, childcare opportunities, and workplace interactions. It generated more self confidence, employer-employee cooperation, and skills opportunities. Overall the project has produced a range of specific outcomes, all of which can be obtained from the project website: http://www.eurobalance-wlb.eu. These include:
