Eurobalance

Home

Issues of work life balance (WLB) are often at the forefront of employment policies across Europe because of its benefits to companies and their employees. For example, WLB can help to:
  • improve organisational output and productivity, and reduce employee dissatisfaction and disengagement

Despite the well recorded benefits the adoption of WLB practices across Europe is patchy and often confusing, largely because of a profusion of different legal, financial and social and cultural situations.

Novel and appropriately targeted education and training material will facilitate the uptake of WLB across Europe, contributing to the European policies relating to employment, competitiveness, and social integration.

The Eurobalance project will draw on an information package developed by two of the project partners, under the auspices of an EU EQUAL project ('ASAPH'), specifically to encourage uptake of WLB in organisations.

With the other transnational partners in the consortium Eurobalance will adapt the material to the circumstances of individual countries across Europe and will use it to create an education and learning environment that will encourage more effective uptake of WLB.

A further innovation designed to ensure success is to use peer educators ('champions') to deliver information and mentoring to small companies in partner countries using best practice methodologies.
